More! More! More!

One month ago, Scitable launched three new blogs and today we have not one, not two, not three, but SIX new blogs and one new forum that have launched! It's really bubbling with excitement here on our network and I'm looking forward to read from the new bloggers and forum moderator! Without further ado, let's take a peek into the awesomeness:

  1. Dave Deriso is a student in rockstar neuroscientist, Ramachandran's lab and is blogging at The Artful Brain. He will explore the human mind using the tools of computational neuroscience and psychology. His first post, This Is Your Brain On Acid, is a must read.
  2. Whitney Campbell, blogs at Green Screen, a blog about the environment! Rather than just focusing on environmental degradation however, Whitney will also highlight scientific innovation and green movement stories that offer intriguing perspectives on people interacting with the natural world in multiple ways. Her introductory post ends with a quote from Carl Sagan, so you know what you have to do.
  3. Shuna Gould joins Scitable as blog manager of Conference Cast, a blog about, well, science conferences! Brace yourself for reports from students around the globe experiencing the excitement of conferencing-from the excitement of the talks to networking activities and travelling adventures. Shuna doesn't mention this in her introductory post but I happen to know that the next series of posts will be about Science Online 2011!
  4. Naseem, a high school student, blogs at Our Science, a blog that will show you guys exactly how cool science is! Look out for lots of interviews with science professionals, researchers and students. In the meantime go read about Naseem's love affair with science here.
  5. Leyla and Sabrina will coblog at MedSci Discoveries. Both are high school students who are interested in medicine. Their aim? To inform us about current events in medical science. Sounds cool, to me! Check out what they are planning to blog about soon here.
  6. Samantha is blogging at Green Science! (High school students rule on Scitable.) Her blog is all about how you can "go green". Samantha hopes that her blog will help stress the importance of global warming and inspire many people to get on their feet and help to clean up our planet. It's all here, in her first post.
  7. And last but not least, Doaa Tawfiq, Assitant Lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, Egypt, moderates the forum Science in Africa. So, if you're in Africa or you are interested in Africa's scientific world, join the conversation here.

The Scitable network now has a total of 16 blogs and three forums. Pretty fantastic, if you ask me. Join the fun, get commenting and add the RSS feeds to your readers.

Welcome all!
