In Which I Won A Science Blogging Contest

I'm extremely proud to let you all know that I won the April edition of Science 3.0's blogging contest about "brain and behavior." The winning blog post is Brains Breathe: Dopamine's Role In Preterm Infants published on this very blog. You can check out previous winning posts here.

Science 3.0 combines the hypothesis based inquiry of laboratory science with the methods of social science research to understand and improve the use of new human networks made possible by today's digital connectivity. This website is a community where those interested in the advancement of research can share ideas, tools and build connections.

The team behind Science 3.0, led by founder Mark Hansel, is developing some very promising tools to help promote scientific research by using the Internet: from the Science 3.0 Etherpad, the web-based word processor which allows real-time collaboration to S3.0 Wiki, a wiki which may be used to host public courses, for instance. The team is also spearheading a number of projects including FigShare.com, a website that allows the sharing of all of your data, negative results and unpublished figures.

To be honest, I never thought I'd win considering the sheer number of excellent neuroscience bloggers out there. So, yes, I am very humbled.

Oh and get some cool swags from EMBO as prize too!
