The Milestones are a series of specially written articles and commentaries, which highlight the most influential discoveries in the field of DNA over the past half-century. Milestones in DNA Technologies also includes specially commissioned commentaries as well as a collection of selected articles and an online-only NPG library of recent research papers and reviews organized according to appropriate subject areas.
Milestones timeline
The Milestones are ordered along a chronological timeline — the first one dating from 1952 and the most recent one from 2006 — according to the year in which the oldest original research paper associated with the Milestone was published.

Four of our Milestones advisors share their views on the history and applications of diverse aspects of DNA technologies in specially-commissioned commentaries.
Collection articles
Articles that were selected for the collection have been previously published by the Nature Publishing Group and comprise a feature, a review and an article.
