Abstract
AN investigation of the acid-soluble nucleotides occurring in a Fusarium species1 has shown that, in addition to a number of previously known compounds, several new ultra-violet absorbing substances are present in this mould. One of these was identified as the mononucleotide of nicotinic acid2, a compound which has also been isolated from baker's yeast3. The present communication reports the characterization of a second substance, an N2-substituted guanosine which is probably 2-(1-carboxyethylamino)-6-hydroxy-9-β-D-ribofuranosylpurine.
