In April 2009, the eight Nature Clinical Practice journals will be rebranded Nature Reviews, increasing the size of the Nature Reviews portfolio from seven to fifteen titles.
Alongside the name change, the Nature Clinical Practice journals will be given a 'facelift' in print and online. The journals will be printed in full colour and the websites will be redesigned with improved navigation. Thanks to the improved design each issue will contain 25% more content, providing customers with more high-quality articles each month. Prices for personal subscriptions and institutional site licenses will be unchanged for 2009.
The existing Nature Reviews series of seven life science journals are firmly established as the leading monthly review journals in their fields. "Including the eight clinical journals as part of the Nature Reviews series will enable us to bring to the clinical sciences the qualities that have made the life science Nature Reviews journals so successful," says Dr James Butcher, Publisher of the clinical Nature Reviews titles. "No other publishing company is able to offer high quality monthly review journals covering advances in medical research from bench to bedside."
"The clinical Nature Reviews journals will retain the high quality content that practising clinicians rely on from the Nature Clinical Practice titles," continues Dr Butcher. "We hope that the journals will now also become indispensable resources for clinical academics working in research settings who are familiar with the look and feel of the life science Nature Reviews titles."
Content will include Editorials, Research Highlights, News & Views, Reviews, Case Studies, and Perspectives articles. The journals will not alter their editorial scopes or commissioning strategies and will retain their distinguished external Editors-in-Chief and international Advisory Boards.
Nature Publishing Group has created an information page with further information and answers to frequently asked questions, including implications for cataloging and impact factors. This will be available from the 28 January at: www.nature.com/clinicalpractice. More information about the existing Nature Reviews portfolio is available at: www.nature.com/reviews.
