Mike Adams has taught in the sciences to
students from 9th grade to the Ph.D. level, and is committed to
promoting undergraduate science education. He is an active member of ABLE and
the Connecticut branch of NABT. He has
also been a participant in the CUR-sponsored Research Link 2000 Project, served on the
organizing committee for PKAL conferences in Connecticut, and is a reviewer for
NSF TUES (formerly, CCLI) grants. His background is in Genetics and Cell
Biology with training at Duke University and The Rockefeller University.
For
the last twenty-five years, he has been in the Biology Department at Eastern
Connecticut State University, a liberal arts undergraduate institution. Mike's
research interests are in stress response and motility in the green alga Chlamydomonas. Over the years, more than
50 students have worked on projects in his lab. Mike currently maintains a site for those who are interested in using Chlamydomonas
in teaching or in undergraduate research.
