Abstract
A new occurrence of algal stromatolites from Plio-Pleistocene lacustrine littoral sediments in the Eastern Rift, Kenya is described. These biolithites provide criteria for the interpretation of the environment of deposition of many of the hominids so far collected in the East Rudolf area.
