Abstract
SEVERAL studies1–4 have now shown that chromosome variation in cancer cells is non-random, and that during cancer progression at least natural selection favours certain chromosome types while others are eliminated. Similar patterns of non-random representations of chromosome types have also been reported in established cell lines5–8.
