Abstract

THE importance of hypothalamic nuclei in the control of the oestrous cycle in mammals has frequently been demonstrated1,2. Thus in rodents with a regular cycle a periodic variation of neurosecretory and enzyme activity of hypothalamic nerve cells has been observed3,4.
