In the original paper, we made it clear that the 75th percentile criterion was used in addition to the other, more crucial criterion of the t-test when reporting a significant difference. Statistical significance of the observed difference between the baseline and test animals was ensured mainly by using the Student's t-test, and this additional (75%) criterion was added simply to call any mouse with an R2 < R2(control) as 'no-infection', although the averaged R2 may be substantially different from (lower than) the baseline value.
