After nearly a month of anticipation, US President Joe Biden has officially tapped cancer surgeon Monica Bertagnolli to lead the US National Institutes of Health (NIH). Media outlets, including Nature, had reported in April that Bertagnolli, the current director of the US National Cancer Institute (NCI), was the probable nominee.
