SCI & Exercise

Exercise improves the fitness and health of individuals with SCI, which improves their performance of activities of daily living, participation and quality of life. As exercise promotion efforts are still needed, it is important to develop exercise programs that are feasible and effective for people with an SCI. In this collection you will find papers that address High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), home-based exercise, specific training modes, such as functional electrical stimulation and locomotor training, and factors affecting enrollment in physical activity research studies.
