Calls for papers

Plastics are a crucial part of modern life, however tens of millions of tonnes of plastic waste is disposed of each year, much of which ultimately ends up in the ocean. In this Collection we showcase studies on understanding and mitigating (micro)plastic pollution, with a special focus on reducing plastic waste in the environment to coincide with 2024's upcoming binding UN treaty on Ending Plastic Pollution.

This cross-journal Collection brings together the latest developments in electrodes, electrolytes, and battery components used in aqueous and non-aqueous sodium-based battery applications.

In this collection, we want to highlight research that focuses on fragments in drug discovery. Have you found validated fragment hits for a new disease target? Maybe they unlocked an unreported enzyme mechanism? Were you able to develop a method that is useful for fragment-based drug discovery? Perhaps you found a hit that made it to clinical trials? We invite all scientists who work with fragments in the context of drug discovery to submit their interesting fragment stories. We look forward to hearing all about them.

This collection encourages submissions related to hydrogen evolution catalysis, particularly where hydrogen gas is the primary product. This is a cross-journal partnership between the Energy Materials team at Nature Communications with Communications Chemistry, Communications Engineering, Communications Materials, and Scientific Reports.
