About the Editors

Chief Editor: Sebastien Thuault

Sebastien is the launch editor of Nature Aging. Originally from France, he obtained his PhD from the University of Bristol in the United Kingdom and performed postdoctoral research in neuroscience at Columbia University in New York City. He joined Nature Research in 2011 and served as a Senior Editor at Nature Neuroscience until 2019, when he transitioned to Nature Communications to steer the Neuroscience and Psychology team. In 2018, he worked as a Publishing Manager focusing on the proposal to launch Nature Aging and took over direction of the journal in March 2020. Sebastien’s keen interest in aging originally stemmed from his years of editorial work with neuroscientists studying neurodegenerative disorders, stroke and brain aging. Since joining Nature Aging, he has expanded his knowledge and interests to many other areas of aging research. Sebastien is based in the New York office. You can contact him at s.thuault@us.nature.com.

Senior Editor: Anna Kriebs

Anna obtained a Diplom in Biochemistry from the University of Tuebingen, where she focused on cellular regulators of senescence. She then moved to the field of circadian biology and completed her PhD at the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California studying how circadian clocks regulate metabolism. In 2018, Anna joined the Nature Portfolio as an editor for Nature Communications, where she handled manuscripts in the areas of metabolic physiology and disease, circadian rhythms, and aging. Anna joined Nature Aging in October 2021. She is based in the Berlin office and you can reach her at anna.kriebs@nature.com.

Associate Editor: Yahyah Aman

Yahyah obtained his PhD in Neuroscience from King’s College London, where he focussed on understanding the mechanisms of pain in Alzheimer’s disease. He carried out his postdoctoral work at University of Oslo and University College London, where he investigated the molecular mechanisms of mitochondrial autophagy and protein homeostasis in human aging and age-related neurodegeneration, using a cross-species model system. Yahyah joined the editorial team of Nature Aging in December 2021 and is based in the London office. You can reach him at yahyah.aman@nature.com.

Associate Editor: Manlio Vinciguerra

Manlio obtained his PhD in Internal Medicine and Cell Biology from the University of Geneva, Switzerland, where he studied the mechanisms of sodium transport and inflammation in kidney epithelia. He carried out his postdoctoral work at the University of Geneva and at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), where he investigated the role of age-associated signaling and epigenetic pathways (PTEN/AKT, Sirtuins) during cardiac stress and in liver diseases. Manlio joined the editorial team of Nature Aging in February 2022 and is based in the Berlin office. You can reach him at manlio.vinciguerra@nature.com.
