Learning from implant cases examined by the Regulator

Implant dentistry is invasive and costly, and it engenders high expectations amongst patients. All of those factors amplify the potential for complication, disappointment and complaint.

Thankfully, most complaints can be resolved locally, or through the Dental Complaints Service (DCS),1 with the assistance of your indemnifier. For those that cannot, there are two main routes of progression:

  1. 1.

    A Civil claim

  2. 2.

    A complaint to the General Dental Council (GDC).2
