Editor-in-Chief

Stephen Hancocks OBE, British Dental Association, London, UK 
Stephen is Editor-in-Chief of the BDJ. He is a dentist, writer, editor, publisher and performer. He was appointed OBE in 1997 by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for services to the dental profession and subsequently has been awarded Honorary Membership of the British Dental Association, the American Dental Association and a place in the prestigious FDI’s List of Honour. He has an MA from the Central School of Speech and Drama, London in Advanced Theatre Practice and is also well known for chairing, lecturing and after-dinner speaking. Additionally, he has a gardening series on YouTube entitled Let's Go Gardening.

David Westgarth, British Dental Association, London, UK  
David is Editor of BDJ In Practice and its sister title, BDJ Student. He qualified from the University of Central Lancashire’s School of Journalism in 2006 and has gone on to work in PR and publishing. In 2017 he was awarded the British Dental Editors and Writers Forum Young Communicator of the Year Award. He likes pop culture references, 90s music and trash TV.
