Abstract
A new multiple-celi apparatus for vapor-liquid equilibria measurements in concentrated polymer solutions is described. Experimental data on vapor-pressure lowering for four polymer–polymer–solvent systems and one block copolymer–solvent system are reported. The Flory–Huggins χ interaction parameters for the corresponding polymer pairs are evaluated. For ternary systems, the results are expressed in terms of a parameter χ1,23 which reduces to the classical Flory–Huggins χ interaction parameter for the case of binary mixtures. Experimental data measured in this work are compared with existing literature data.
