Substrate Transformations dependent on Respiratory States of Mitochondria: Functional Status and Metabolic Changes in Rabbit Heart Mitochondria during Pyruvate Oxidation

Abstract

Is oxidative phosphorylation the only mechanism controlling the respiratory activity of mitochondria ? In isolated rat heart mitochondria the sites of metabolic control seem to vary with the respiratory state.
