Abstract
TECHNICAL advances in tissue and organ transplantation have created a need for satisfactory pre-operative histocompatibility tests. The lymphocyte transfer test has been found to aid in the selection of donors1,2, but has shown an altered response in uraemia3. Mixed cultures of peripheral blood lymphocytes have been found to undergo transformation processes which can be correlated with antigenic differences between individuals4–6.
