Abstract
IN 1962, Rauscher1 described a virus recovered from BALB/c mice which resulted in a mononuclear infiltrate of the tissues examined, beginning 30–45 days after inoculation. Nucleated erythrocytes were observed in large numbers in the red pulp of the spleen and in sinusoids of the liver as well as in peripheral blood smears.
