Abstract
ONE-DIMENSIONAL electrophoresis in starch gel1 performed in a discontinuous system of buffers2 has shown several new protein components in the region between the slow-α2 globulin (S-α2) and transferrin (β-1-globulin). During the investigations of the origin of these new bands it became apparent that at least two belong to the ‘fast moving’ γ-globulins. The term refers to that portion of γ-globulins which are found by filter paper electrophoresis (sodium barbital-sodium acetate-hydrochloric acid buffer; ionic strength 0.1µ in the β-globulin region.
