Seasonal Variation in the Plankton and Salinity of the Hauraki Gulf, New Zealand

Abstract

THE seasonal variation of the plankton of the Hauraki Gulf, New Zealand, has not previously been studied. From November 1948 until October 1950, a pilot survey of the plankton of the Gulf was made possible by the courtesy of the Marine Department of the Government of New Zealand, which made available its research vessel Ikatere.
