Abstract
PROF. MINNAERT has pointed out the distinction between the three components of solar radiation. We would like to make it clear that the primary object of the experiment described in our previous communication1 was to investigate the origin of the steady component of the radiation from the two intense galactic sources. The results which we obtained suggested that the steady component is produced by a mechanism similar to that of the ‘thermal' radiation of the quiet sun.
