Abstract
WHEN we examine on different photographs those groups of lines which reappear periodically with a particular regularity, we find that these groups belong precisely to the category of those which reverse themselves; for some are reversed and the others are on the point of being so. For the same metals, the reversals are more or less complete according to the conditions of the experiment, and for different metals according to their chemical and physical properties.
