Can rectal NSAIDs prevent post-ERCP pancreatitis?
Acute pancreatitis is the most common and feared complication following endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). Pharmacological prevention of post-ERCP pancreatitis has been disappointing, especially in high-risk patients. However, a prospective multicentre trial has demonstrated the efficacy of rectal administration of indomethacin for preventing post-ERCP pancreatitis in high-risk cases.

Selective nanoparticle adhesion can enhance colitis therapy
One of the major challenges in IBD therapy is targeting delivery of the drug to the specific site of inflammation. A recent approach to combat this problem is the use of nanoparticulate drug delivery systems that selectively accumulate a given drug at the site of affected tissue. As the drug load is delivered locally, drug dose and adverse effects are reduced.
