Journal Information

Nature Mental Health is a new online journal, to be launched in January 2023. Nature Mental Health is a monthly online-only journal publishing original, peer-reviewed research from the breadth of sciences exploring mental health and mental health disorders. Delivering impactful Articles, News, Reviews, Perspectives, and commissioned content, Nature Mental Health reaches a diverse and inclusive readership, including the community, clinicians, researchers, and policy makers.

Aims & scope

Nature Mental Health is the multidisciplinary nexus of high quality, high-impact research and commentary on mental health and disorders of mental health. The journal seeks to bring together innovative investigation of the neurobiological and psychological factors that underpin psychiatric disorders with contemporary work examining the effects of public health crises.

Online publication

Nature Mental Health is an exclusively online publication. Articles are published using an Advanced Online Publication process, giving our authors an earlier publication date and allowing our readers to access papers several weeks before they appear in a specific issue. Note that papers published online are definitive and may be altered only through the publication of an Addendum or Correction, so authors should make every effort to ensure that the page proofs are correct.

Content types

We publish a range of content types, including research Articles, News & Views, Reviews, Perspectives, Comments, Features and Correspondence that elaborate on significant advances in the field and cover topical issues.
