Type 2 Diabetes in Asia with a focus on India and China
China and India currently have the highest numbers of type 2 diabetics in the world, and these figures are projected to substantially increase by 2040. This special issue provides perspectives, reviews of epidemiological and clinical evidence and cellular/molecular approaches towards our understanding of the disease in the Asian context. It is hoped that this collection of papers and its accompanying commentary, will stimulate a renewed and joint effort in addressing the challenge of T2DM in Asia. Two of the authors have also provided us with interesting videos to accompany this special issue. Please click here to view the video by Prof Misra and here to view the video from Prof Ma.
