Professor Cemal Ucer, a specialist oral surgeon at the School of Health, Sport and Rehabilitation Sciences within the University of Salford has been confirmed as President-Elect of the Association of Dental Implantology (UK).

For the last four years Professor Ucer has been an active member of the ADI Board as its North West representative and as a host for the ADI's mentor training course at Salford – a course that has produced 70 new mentors so far.

He is the clinical lead of the Diploma/MSc Programme in Implant Dentistry at Salford which teaches established dentists the techniques required to implant artificial roots for teeth.

Professor Ucer will officially become president in two years time, but he has already begun to tackle his responsibilities in the role actively and has formed an agenda dedicated to maintaining both high standards of patient care and the training of dentists across the UK.
