Faculty research grants

The successful applicants will use the funding to investigate outcomes for treatments for oral cancer and cleft lip, as well as looking at the most effective ways to improve children's dental health.

DCP Miss Emma Pacey is a dental hygienist and therapist and lectures in oral health science at the University of Essex. Miss Pacey has been awarded a grant to support a master's degree she is undertaking at University College London, investigating how supporting parents and carers can help reduce children's sugar intake.

Research fellowships have been awarded in partnership with the British Orthodontic Society (BOS), the British Society of Paediatric Dentistry (BSPD) and some small grants were offered in partnership with the British Association for the Study of Community Dentistry (BASCD).

FDS small grants were to Mr Navin Vig, Mr John Perry, Miss Rupal Shah and Mr Vinod Patel. FDS-BASCD small grants went to Miss Pacey and Mrs Heather Raison.
