All good things must come to an end, and so it is with the expert leadership of Dr David Calhoun, who steps down from his role as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Human Hypertension (JHH) with this issue. Previously serving as North and South American Associate Editor, Dr Calhoun rose to his current position in 2012. Since that time, his astute judgement and dedication to the JHH have been critical in ensuring the journal’s ongoing success. That the JHH is attracting more original submissions and reviews than ever before and is considered a major player in hypertension-related journals testifies to the skill with which Dr Calhoun has led the editorial team. On behalf of the JHH staff and clinical hypertension researchers, we sincerely thank him for his contributions and for leaving the journal in great shape.
With big shoes to fill, the incoming Editor-in-Chief will be Professor Michael Stowasser from Greenslopes and Princess Alexandra Hospitals, University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia. Professor Stowasser has served as Asian and Australian Associate Editor since 2008. His major clinical and research interests relate to pathogenesis and management particularly of endocrine varieties of hypertension including primary aldosteronism, renovascular hypertension, pheochromocytoma and familial hyperkalemic hypertension.
