Abstract
ANTIBODY-DEPENDENT cell-mediated cytotoxicity has been demonstrated in vitro using a number of continuously cultivated cell lines1,2 and nucleated erythrocytes3 as targets. Although the biological role of this cytotoxicity is not yet clear, it represents a potentially efficient cytotoxic mechanism and considerable interest has been shown in the characterisation of the effector cells.
