Abstract
IN the course of investigations of the vitamin A series1 three geometric isomers of all-trans vitamin A acid were recently synthesized by the method of Robeson et al.2. Although all-trans vitamin A acid maintains normal growth and skin appearance, it cannot replace vitamin A and its esters to the full extent in the rat3–8.
