Abstract
Two methods of synthesizing ‘block’ copolymers have been reported in a recent communication from these laboratories1. Whereas both these methods involve a static system, it has now proved possible to conduct a similar kind of synthesis using a flow technique. Polymer radicals derived from one monomer are introduced into a second monomer; their continued growth leads to the production of block polymer. The type of apparatus used for these experiments is shown in the diagram.
