Immunoprecipitation is a method for isolating a target molecule from a solution or cell lysate using an antibody that recognizes it. In the most common version, binding of antibody to a peptide antigen forms an aggregate (including any binding partners or complexes) that precipitates and can be concentrated by centrifugation.
