If You Don't Have It- Steal It: Sea Slug Defenses

Sea slugs may seem vulnerable, but they don't make a meal for the faint of heart. Some nudibranchs can give a nasty to sting to any animal that tries to eat them, but they don't biologically produce the sting themselves. Glaucus harvests the defenses of its jellyfish prey and uses them against its own predators.

CreatureCast originally posted this episode at the New York Times, where you can read more.

Produced by Lauren Cheung. The Glaucus illustration is based on the beautiful photo by Taro Taylor. The music is "Thinking of you" by Gillicuddy.
