Novel Theranostics

Submission status
Open
Submission deadline

In recent years, there has been a growing interest in the field of novel theranostics, which encompasses both Positron emission tomography (PET) imaging and radionuclide therapy. Theranostics aims to integrate diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to personalize patient care. PET imaging plays a crucial role in the diagnostics by enabling the visualization and characterization of specific biological targets and pathways relevant to disease pathology. Moreover, PET allows for the evaluation of novel radiotracers designed to target these biological markers, facilitating the development and optimization of targeted therapies.

This collection seeks submissions of original research from researchers and clinicians actively involved in applying PET imaging techniques with novel biological targets and radiotracers, as well as from scientists working on the development of new radiotracers for PET.

Anne M Landau, PhD, Aarhus University, Denmark

Anne M Landau is an Associate Professor at the Translational Neuropsychiatry Unit and Department of Nuclear Medicine and PET-Center at Aarhus University. She uses positron emission tomography (PET) to study in vivo the molecular changes in translationally relevant rodent and minipig models of neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders and the effects of novel therapeutic agents. Dr. Landau has served as an Editorial Board Member at Scientific Reports since 2019.

Mukesh K Pandey, PhD, Mayo Clinic Rochester, USA

Mukesh K Pandey is a Professor of Radiology and Director of Molecular Imaging Research at Mayo Clinic Rochester, MN USA. His research focuses on design, development, and translation of theranostic molecules for PET imaging and radionuclide therapy applications for various cancers, cardiac and neurological disorders. He also studies PET imaging of infection and regenerative medicine. Prof. Pandey has been an Editorial Board Member for Scientific Reports since 2022.
