This Collection aims to publish the latest research on the impact of sex and gender on chronic diseases, including but not limited to: cardiovascular, neurological, and metabolic diseases. A special interest will be given to articles that investigate the independent association of sex and gender on chronic disease.
Topics will include, but are not limited to, the impact of sex and gender on:
Cardiovascular disease, including structural and functional imaging in chronic disease cohorts
Obesity, diabetes, and other metabolic diseases
Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diagnosis and disease management
Time to diagnosis of chronic diseases
The management and therapy response of chronic disease
Imaging biomarkers and serum biomarkers in chronic disease cohorts
The independent association of gender and sex with symptoms, prevalence, and risk of chronic disease
This Collection supports and amplifies research related to SDG 5.
