This cross-journal Collection aims to highlight the latest advances in research for brain tumor immunology and immunotherapy. The goal of the Collection will be to bridge our understanding of basic, translational, and clinical immune-based research in the context of brain tumors, as well as offer expert commentary on emerging strategies and next-generation efforts toward harnessing the power of the immune system to treat tumors in the brain. 

This is a joint collaboration between npj Precision Oncologynpj Vaccines and Scientific Reports. Authors should refer to the aims and scope of each participating journal to determine the most appropriate journal for their manuscript. Submissions are welcome on a rolling basis.

Dr. Bryan Choi, MD, PhD, Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, USA.

Dr. Bryan Choi, MD, PhD is a neurosurgeon and research scientist in the Department of Neurosurgery and the Stephen E. and Catherine Pappas Center for Neuro-Oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. He specializes in surgical care for patients with benign and malignant brain tumors. He also leads a research laboratory with the goal of developing the next generation of cell therapies and clinical trials in neuro-oncology.

 

Dr. Lukas Bunse, MD, PhD, German Cancer Research Center, Heidelberg, Germany.

Dr. Lukas Bunse, MD, PhD, is a neuro-oncologist and research scientist at Neurology Clinic, Medical Faculty Mannheim, University Heidelberg and the German Cancer Research Center Heidelberg. He specializes in care for patients with neurological diseases, especially malignant gliomas. He also leads a research team with the goal of developing combinatorial immunotherapies including vaccines and T cell receptor engineered therapies and conducts clinical trials.
