Currently 5G capabilities are well established; however, due to the increasing demand imposed by modern society through e.g. virtual and augmented reality, and ubiquitous mobile communications, further advances are desirable. In the past few years, there has been much effort from the engineering community to develop solutions that will lead to the next generation of wireless communication and networking, including the exploitation of millimiter and teraherz spectrum, Digital Twin, Artificial Intelligence, Semantic/Goal-Oriented Communications, Smart Holographic/Reflecting Surfaces, Green IoT. Next generation communication technologies are expected to dramatically increase the speed and bandwidth of our networks, enabling larger and faster information transfer and interconnectedness.
This Collection welcomes research resulting in developments in technologies beyond 5G networking.
