Remote health monitoring

Recent decades have seen technological advancements that have allowed monitoring a patient’s health remotely to become standard clinical practice. This not only makes healthcare more accessible and affordable, but can also improve an individual's quality of life. Telecommunication options between patient and carer include a standard phone or video call, to smartwatches tracking physical activity, to implants constantly measuring blood sugar levels. This ability to gather continuous streams of data also goes beyond benefits to the individual, as its potential for use at scale facilitates research using large study populations.

This Collection is dedicated to the most recent developments in remote health monitoring, including telehealth, new devices and wearable health technology, patient experience, and big data in healthcare.
