Agrobiodiversity

The United Nations (UN) Biodiversity Conference (COP-15) generated a global biodiversity framework designed to direct careful human stewardship of the natural world. Sustainable agriculture is a major focus of this initiative, ensuring preservation and conservation of biodiversity principles in human land use, as well as factoring into the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2, 14 and 15. Understanding biodiversity across all ecological components of agricultural ecosystems is essential to informing strategy to meet these goals, including microbiological contributions alongside fauna and flora compositions, as well as methods of agricultural pest management and increasing yield.

For this Collection, we welcome any submissions with novel exploration of biodiversity within agricultural settings. In addition to original research Articles, we will also consider Reviews, Perspectives and Comments covering these topics. All submissions will be subject to the same review process as regular Communications Biology Articles.

This Collection supports and amplifies research related to SDG 2, 14 and 15.
