Psychology of Resilience

Submission status
Open
Submission deadline

The editors at Communications Psychology invite submissions of research manuscripts on the Psychology of Resilience. Submissions may come from any field of psychology or neighbouring disciplines, such as social work, education, and psychiatry.

We invite studies that examine predictors and outcomes, answering the questions what makes people psychologically resilient or how resilience influences their life. This includes work studying the contexts, characteristics, relationships, and resources that facilitate (or hinder) resilience in the face of adverse circumstances ranging from daily hassles to traumatic events. We encourage work exploring how resilient behaviours or characteristics influence outcomes including, for example, health, well-being, occupational or academic success, and relationships. Contributions that address the dynamics of resilience including pathways of resistance, recovery, and transformation as well as work considering the multiple systems (e.g., biological, societal, developmental, and historical) that influence psychological resilience are welcomed.

The journals will consider submissions of Research articles, Registered Reports, and Resource articles on the topic. More information on the different formats can be found here. If you are interested in contributing a review or opinion piece, please email the editors directly. We will highlight relevant publications in this Collection.

The journal invites submissions in the form of Research articles, Registered Reports, and Resource articles, as well as review and opinion contributions to the Collection (full details on content types can be found here). Papers will be published in Communications Psychology as soon as they are accepted and then collected together and promoted on the Collection homepage.

The Collection is open for submissions from all authors – and not by invitation only – on the condition that the manuscripts fall within the scope of the Collection and of Communications Psychology more generally. See our editorial process page for more details. All submissions will be subject to the same review process and editorial standards as regular Communications Psychology Articles, including the journal’s policy on competing interests. The editorial process is managed by professional editors from the journals. All submissions to the collection will be considered and editors will guide authors on the suitability of submitted articles for publication.

When submitting your manuscript to Communications Psychology via our online submission system, please choose the appropriate Collection title from the drop-down menu on the submission form. Please be sure to express your interest in the Collection in your cover letter. All manuscripts will be considered for publication according to the editorial policies of Communications Psychology. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that any individual paper will be included in the collection.
