Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG6) pledges to “ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all”. Due to growing urbanisation and industrialisation, a major effort to safeguard water bodies from pollution and increase water quality is urgently needed to protect the environment and public health. Achieving this goal not only requires the development of sustainable and efficient technologies to make drinking water and sanitation and hygiene services available to all communities but also entails the introduction of measures to ensure sustainable use and management of water resources.

This collection will gather the latest technological advances on measurement, monitoring, and sustainable and efficient technologies for water and wastewater treatment, water management, reuse, and safe disposal.
