Postpartum depression

Submission status

Submission deadline

Depression and anxiety after childbirth are widespread globally, with an estimated prevalence of 13% in high-income countries and 20% in lower- to middle-income countries. Despite this frequency, factors like stigma prevent over 80% of affected individuals from seeking help. Postpartum depression impacts not only the childbearing individual, but also the infant, through the disruption of the parent-child relationship.

This Collection welcomes original research on the incidence, risk factors, diagnosis, and treatment of postpartum depression.
