Volume II of this book is edited by Dr Michael Cohen and offers 19 chapters consisting of a variety of cases treated by talented clinicians across several disciplines. Each chapter is stand-alone and follows an easy-to-read standardised format:

1. Philosophy and background.

2. Case presentation – a significant part of each case presentation focuses on the initial patient consultation and is illustrated (where appropriate) by way of dental casts, clinical photographs and radiographs. This is followed by a proposed treatment plan and then the actual treatment plan. The book is also accompanied by high quality 'post-treatment overlays' for comparison purposes (transparent overlays that can be superimposed on pre-treatment chartings – dental and periodontal).

3. Commentary – Each chapter concludes with a commentary in which the clinicians reflect on the philosophy, context and techniques behind the treatments. In some instances, clinicians also comment on how they would treat the case differently if they could turn the clock back.

The book is extremely well presented with high quality clinical photographs and records throughout. Although the treatments proposed are probably too complex for a primary care setting, this book illustrates a holistic approach to treatment planning which should be considered for each patient. In summary, this book demonstrates the importance of a multidisciplinary 'team' approach in achieving treatment outcomes of the highest quality.
