COVID-19 vaccination policy dataset

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the vaccination policies of countries differed widely. A new Resource, collated by the Oxford COVID-19 Government Response Tracker (OxCGRT) project, details the policies of 185 countries, including variation in vaccination prioritization plans, eligibility and availability, cost to the individual, and mandatory vaccination.

The OxCGRT project team began collecting data on government responses to the pandemic from 1 January 2020, and its custodians made data available from March before introducing the dataset to the global community via publication in 2021 (ref. 2). However, that iteration did not include information on vaccination policies, which still lay in the future. Given the rapid pace and recent occurrence of the global vaccine rollout, there have been no equivalent attempts to gather government vaccination policies in a central repository for analysis. This makes the arrival and availability of the new dataset very timely.
