In the version of this News & Views article originally published, the term ‘water-fed electrolyser’ should have been ‘liquid-electrolyte-fed electrolyser’ throughout, except for in the sentence beginning “This method enabled...”. Further, the subject line ‘Gas diffusion electrodes’ was mistakenly not included. All versions of the News & Views article have been corrected.
