**Step 1:**As we know, a whole of something is equal to 100%. In this case, we want to find what 1% of 699 is. We know that 100% of 699 is, well, just 699.**Step 2:**If 100% of 699 is 699, then we can get 1% of 699 by dividing it by 100. Let's do 699 / 100. This is equal to 6.99. Now we know that 1% is 6.99.**Step 3:**Now that we know what 1% of 699 is, we just need to multiply it by 1 to get our solution! 6.99 times 1 = 6.99. That's all there is to it!
