The accuracy of virtual setup in simulating treatment outcomes in orthodontic practice: a systematic review

It has become increasingly common for treatment outcomes in orthodontics to be modelled virtually. This Systematic Review found that virtual set-ups were an accurate method of predicting outcomes and were able to display the intended results of various treatment plans for clinicians and patients.

As such, the authors recommend that (bearing in mind their limitations and discrepancies) virtual set-ups should be implemented both in practice and in dental/orthodontic education.
