The title compound was prepared as outlined in the synthesis of 5 as a mixture with threo-5. erythro-5: 1H NMR (300 MHz, D2O) δ 5.81 (d, J = 5.2 Hz, 1H, (C1')–H), 4.65 (d, J = 5.2 Hz, 0.8 1H, (C2')–H), 3.82 (d, J = 9.6, 0.5 Hz, 1H, (C4')–H), 3.61 (dd, J = 12.3, 0.8 Hz, 1H, (C4')–H), (C4'')–H, 3.57 (dd, J = 12.3, 0.8 Hz, 1H, (C4'')–H, 3.39 (d, J = 9.6 Hz, 0.5, 1H, (C4')–H) 13C NMR (151 MHz, D2O) δ 166.2, 99.2, 82.6, 80.4, 67.5, 64.0.
